Fun Clipboard Place-Setting for the Kids

Hosting a birthday party for children? Or, planning a picnic with the family? No matter the activity, I have a fun, interactive place setting that can be found at the $1 section of Target. That's right. $1 section!

This project was inspired by these wood utensils, which includes 2 spoons, 2 knives, and 2 forks for $1. Obviously, they're not dishwasher safe. However, the best birthday party, or picnic is one that requires little clean-up, right? Simply dispose of them when you're done.

Now some of you may be asking: why the clipboard?

I also found the clipboard in the dollar section. It retails for $3, but that's not the reason I selected it for this project. A place setting is more than just your designated dinnerware & silverware. With this clipboard, your family or guests can use it for drawing, painting, or crafting (after the meal). And with it's hard, durable surface, the clipboard is the perfect platform for serving a meal, followed by crafting an art project. And the best part: it can be used for indoors or outdoors. I recommend outdoors, if the weather is nice.

Additional accessories include striped napkins, which I folded into triangles. Then, I layered them on top of one another to form a paper star. Top it off with a LED candle. Sprinkle in some flower petals of your choosing, and your fun, interactive table setting is complete. How easy is that!
