Customizable Mason Jar Lids

If you're like me, you may have one too many mason jars in your pantry, closet, or on your kitchen counter. Although I've come up with a clever idea for labeling (from a previous blog post), sometimes a label just isn't enough. And when you're in a hurry, wouldn't it be nice to immediately know which mason jar to grab without having to read the label? If so, I've found the answer, and it's at Michael's. This arts & crafts store has a great selection of customizable mason lids, with unique knobs attached, and they're only $3.99 each. Although Michael's has a great selection, never limit yourself if you need more than what the store offers. Scrounge around the house and look for small items you can part with such as used wine corks, buttons, bows, ribbon, etc. And simply apply these items with the use of a hot glue gun. However, if you're truly a dedicated DIY'er, go to your local hardware store, and pick out kitchen cabinet knobs. The knobs should come with the recommended fasteners. Simply, poke a small hole in the lid of the mason jar, and apply the knob as you would to a cabinet. Your boring mason jar will now blend in with your rustic home decor.
